A little drama， a little magic and interesting relationships

I liked the story with it's magical Christmas touch。 Three adult women， 2 sisters and a good friend， decide to relive a young adult experience visiting Santa at the shopping mall。 They arrive and Santa with Mrs。 Santa is mysteriously not busy。 He seems to know what they want without them telling him and says they will each soon get their hearts desires。 This part was fun and good so I gave it 3 1/2 I realize after reading several of Sheila Roberts books that they all have a similar style-girl I liked the story with it's magical Christmas touch。 Three adult women， 2 sisters and a good friend， decide to relive a young adult experience visiting Santa at the shopping mall。 They arrive and Santa with Mrs。 Santa is mysteriously not busy。 He seems to know what they want without them telling him and says they will each soon get their hearts desires。 This part was fun and good so I gave it 3 1/2 I realize after reading several of Sheila Roberts books that they all have a similar style-girl gets dumped by husband/boyfriend。 Girl must get through heartache and pain by reconnecting with friends and family。 That's all good。 However there end up being too many characters to keep track of。 Then the Heroine seems to make the same mistakes many times。 She comes on to the guy then suddenly backs off again over and over。 Does she love him or does she not？ Am I good enough or am I not？ IT gets very tedious by about the 3rd or 4th time。 The internal battles and repetitive though processes just seem like filler for the story。 In this particular book the character Noel just doesn't ring true。 She is basically shy and insecure but continually dresses herself up and throws herself at Ben trying to convince （bribe） him to sell her the house she is living in。 She worries about not having enough money for a down payment but keeps buying gifts like coffee and chocolates （for a man？） and meals to get his attention。 Usually she ends up doing something that makes her look stupid and clumsy。 I think this is meant to be endearing but she just comes off looking like an inept stalker。 This character was way overdone and ruined the story for me。 What could have been a very cute short story ended up being an overlong repetitious book 。。。more

This book is about 3 women。 Riley， an elementary school teacher， gets dumped 3 weeks before her wedding （on Thanksgiving， no less） for her best friend and coworker， Emily。 Her sister， Jo， is very pregnant and about to have a baby with her husband who is in the Navy and is not home。 Finally， Noel is their friend and her house that she loves and has been renting forever is getting sold and she's going to have to move。 This book follows these 3 ladies and how they make it through this holiday This book is about 3 women。 Riley， an elementary school teacher， gets dumped 3 weeks before her wedding （on Thanksgiving， no less） for her best friend and coworker， Emily。 Her sister， Jo， is very pregnant and about to have a baby with her husband who is in the Navy and is not home。 Finally， Noel is their friend and her house that she loves and has been renting forever is getting sold and she's going to have to move。 This book follows these 3 ladies and how they make it through this holiday season。 They go see a mall Santa and the Santa predicts that Riley will meet a man in an unlikely way and fall in love， Jo will have a baby boy （her sonogram said its a girl） and that Noel will keep her house and get a good man to boot。 Will Santa be right？ SPOILERS AHEAD: Riley has to figure out how to navigate life after being humiliated and betrayed by her friend and her fiance。 She can't face up to cancelling all the wedding stuff so she decides to go forward with the reception。 She invites a bunch of people in a nursing home as well as all of her friends and family and she has a huge party。 I loved that she did that！ But I think she went a little far with it。 She wore the dress， people gave speeches， etc。 But who am I to judge-- I'm so glad she made a good thing out of something sad and potentially lethal to self esteem。 She also meets a man named Jack。 She runs into him （literally） and they form an unlikely and quirky relationship。 It was fun and cute to watch their banter and their relationship grow。 2 years later， they get married。 Jo is hell bent on getting her husband to retire from the Navy。 She's mad that she's doing it all alone and can't stomach the idea of him being gone all the time。 She does have a boy， not a girl， and when her husband finally comes home he is awesome and so helpful， but Jo realizes she's got to let him do what he loves， even if that means reenlisting。 So he does and everyone is okay with that。 Finally， Noel is a children's storybook writer。 The 0ld lady that owns her house is going to sell it and wont' wait for her to get the money together。 The guy who buys it seems kind of ruthless at first。 He is a flipper so he buys houses， fixes them up and then resells them for a profit。 That is his plan for her cute little house and this just makes Noel sick。 She also knows that she'll never be able to afford it if she has to pay the renovated cost。 Well， she and Ben go from enemies to lovers with some funny points along the way。 His mom is a hellion and their relationship is nice and slow burn。 Overall， I thought this book was really cute and I really liked all of the characters。 I identified most with Jo， but all were relatable and fun to read！ Highly recommend。 。。。more

I don't know how Sheila Roberts can always write book that touch my heart， and force me to not do any housework until after the last page。 This was the story of 3 women and the events that happen in their lives right before Christmas。 I just wanted to read more， is this going to be a new Icicle Falls？ I hope so， I would love to go back and see them again。

This was a cute and fun holiday read。 This was a Brenda Novak book read for 2017。 I was not disappointed， I read it in one sitting。 We have Riley who is a school teacher also planning a Christmas wedding。 We met her sister Jo， who is pregnant and their friend Noel。 Noel is a author who is trying to keep her house。 Everything changes one night when Santa tells all three what is in their future。
